My name is Kristen Killingsworth, and I am one of the Inner Spark Creative interns. I am a soon-to-graduate senior at Auburn University, majoring in communication and English literature. I am a proud Auburn, Alabama, local. Auburn has been my hometown for over a decade. After I have graduated, I one day plan to be a part of a marketing or publishing agency. I hope to use what I have learned from Inner Spark when I am building my own career in the future.
I began interning at Inner Spark a few months ago and have really enjoyed my time here so far. They give me a lot of freedom to do many tasks on my own while also giving me explicit guideline for their overall goals. Some of the things I have learned include curating social media material for clients, operating a program called Hootsuite, researching for potential blog posts, and learning how to create strategy documents for clients. I enjoy searching and curating for clients because it grants me the opportunity to be creative with my search. Specific clients require various types of material, so I am constantly looking for something different. I have also learned a great amount about marketing in general through a lot of blog post research. For instance, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and countless other social media sites are essential to the success of a business. It is fascinating that they are used not only for entertainment but also for business.
I know that there is much more that I am going to learn while interning at Inner Spark, and I look forward to the next few months with them.
